Dr. Kretschmer holds a degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from UTEP and an M.S. Degree in Biology. She has worked on the use of research techniques to elucidate the molecular mechanism(s) involved in increased tumor incidence and proliferative effects of environmental estrogen and has utilized synchrotron radiation to determine speciation and or oxidation state of arsenic and lead in soil samples and air filters.
Dr. Ed Hauptmann Director of Engineering
Dr. Hauptmann has a Ph.D., Applied Mechanics, M.S., Mech. Eng; B.Sc., Mech. Eng. He has written twenty patents, and over 100 technical papers, articles, and conference presentations. Professionally he has worked as Principal and Director at NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd.; Design Eng., Chemetics Int. Ltd.; Development Eng., LO-REZ Vibration Control.; and with MacMillan-Bloedel on an NRC-sponsored R&D program.
Dr. Russell R. Chianelli Director
Dr. Chianelli is recognized as a world leader in exploration and development of materials that enhance refinery performance. He was a senior research scientist with Exxon laboratories prior to joining the faculty of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) as the head of the Materials Science Department. He is recognized worldwide for his work in Transition Metal Sulfide environmental catalytic materials. He is named on over 60 patents and has authored hundreds of publications on material science topics. Dr. Chianelli was named as UTEP's “Distinguished Researcher of the Year” in 2004.
